POST 28: VOICE-OVER SCRIPT FOR OUR DOCUMENTARY

Attached below is my copy of the voiceover script for our documentary. It briefly outlines what I, as the narrator, plan to say within the recorded voice-over commentary of my documentary. This is absolutely crucial for the planning of our documentary, as we need a good idea of what to say for our voice-over before we can start to record it. A voice-over also needs to incorporate a variety of facts and statistics, and need to relate to the subject we are discussing and basing our documentary on.

POST 22: CHOOSING A SOUNDTRACK FOR OUR DOCUMENTARY

As we are making a documentary based on technology, it is best to relate everything we choose to use to the theme of technology. For this reason, we decided techno music would be the best choice of music to use as an instrumental background theme to our documentary.

Here is the main choice of techno music that we would like to go with:

POST 21: PROOF OF INTERVIEW ARRANGEMENTS [PART THREE]

POST 20: PROOF OF INTERVIEW ARRANGEMENTS [PART TWO]

Following the failed arrangements with Hayley Hemming and the successful interview with Richard Jones, we decided we needed another expert who know about technology to a fair extent, and we decided this would be Nick - Head of Media and IT at Solihull Sixth Form. As the head of two subjects which have high correlation with technology, Nick was definitely someone that we wanted to gain an insight from for our documentary. I took the opportunity to message Nick about a possible interview for our documentary.

As shown in the image above, Nick didn't view the message we sent. Learning from my previous mistakes, I decided that I did not want to wait for Nick to view the message like I did with Hayley, as it may have been too late to arrange an interview at this time. In order to remedy this, I went to his office in Kitson on Friday 7th November and asked him in person if he would be okay to have an interview with us. Nick agreed to be interviewed on Friday 14th November between 2:50pm - 4:00pm.

POST 19: PROOF OF INTERVIEW ARRANGEMENTS [PART ONE]

At first, we decided a psychology teacher would be a good choice for our documentary, as they could give a good insight on the addiction of technology on a psychological level. We therefore decided to contact Hayley Hemming, a psychology teacher.

I sent a message to Hayley explaining the details of our documentary and asking if it would be okay to interview her.

As you can see, I sent this message on the 6th October. Hayley didn't view it until the day afterwards, and there was no reply.

I waited for a week for Hayley to reply, and I still received no response. Keeping the deadline for filming in mind, I decided to talk to Richard Jones and organise an interview with him, which he accepted.

Richard Jones was chosen to be interviewed as an expert since he uses and handles Technology on a daily basis. Therefore, he was an ideal choice for an expert as he had experience and knowledge on the subject of technology and the advancement and changes it has gone through.

POST 18: SELF-REFLECTION ON OUR PROGRESS

As a group, we recognize that self-reflection upon our work, and our progress so far, will help us to understand the strengths, weaknesses and ways we can improve and move forward with our documentary in order to make it as successful as possible.

So what exactly have we reviewed?

Well, we took a look at our own work on the 21st November, 2014. We sat down as a group and reviewed ourselves and our progress. This is what we came up with.

So, we were asked to mark ourselves between Level 1 (the lowest level) and Level 4 (the highest level). We came to the conclusion that we are currently at a Level 2, as we have unfinished posts on our blog, and we have not gone into enough detail on some of these posts.

We also identified that we are at 11 marks out of 20. 11 is actually the highest mark of a Level 2, so we have decided that, as a group, we need to finish all of our current blog posts and expand on the detail of our existing blog posts in order to break into a Level 3.

We also need to use different presentational skills and forms of media to boost our level and show that we are skilful in the care of our blog.

POST 17: STORYBOARD FOR DOCUMENTARY

Before we started filming any footage for our documentary, we were well aware that it was necessary to create a storyboard containing the order and location of the scenes that we planned to put in our documentary.

I decided to draw a series of scenes that we would feature in our documentary. The storyboard is shown below.
